Thiru NAngur ( 11 Dhivya dhesams )
common note
From Seerkazhi 8Kms. South East is located NAngur with ThiruNAngur 11 dhivya dhesams. It is also addressed as PurasankAdu, ParAsavanam and is located in between Cauvery ( on the South ) and MaNiyAru ( on the North ).
These 11 Dhivya dhesams are: Thiru NArAyana perumal koil - ManimAda koil ( NArAyanan ), ThiruKAvalampAdi ( GopAlakrishnan ), ThiruarimEya viNagaram ( KudamAdukoothan ), ThiruvaNPurudothamam ( Purushothaman ) , ThiruChemponsei Koil ( PerarulALan ), ThiruVaikuntha ViNagaram ( Vaikuntha nAthan ), ThiruThevanAr Thogai ( Dheiva nAyakan ), Thiruthetriyampalam – PaLikonda perumal ( SenkaNmAl ), ThiruManiKoodam ( VaradharAja perumAl, ManiKooda nAyakan ), ThiruVeLaKulam - ANan koil ( ANan perumAL ) and ThiruPArthan paLi ( PArthasArathy ).
These 11 ThiruNAngur based dhivya dhesams, are having Periya thiruvadi ( Garuda ) as a main connecting link, in that Garuda seva is grandly celebrated together in all of them.
It is mentioned in stone plaques found here that in Chozha dynasty it was called Chadhurvedhi mangalam with 4000Vedic Brahmins staying here and was a place of special significance.
In Chozha Kingdom this place alone had the privilege of having 11 Dhivya dhesams.
Every year during the next day after Thai AmmAvasya , in the Garuda seva being celebrated in the Thiru NarAyana perumal koil, all these Dhivya dhesa deities visit this place and participate. Thirumangai Azhwar will perform MangalAsAsanam to all the 11 deities one after another. After this ManavAlamAmunigal will perform ManglAsAsanam to Thirumangai Azhwar.
We humbly request bhakthAs to make it a point to plan and visit this Divya desam and have the Darshan of lords in the 11temples located in this single small town. It will be a morale boosting act to the bhaTAchAryAs and others who are doing the job of performing nithyaArAhanAs, temple kainkaryams and taking care of these places of tradition, with very little expectations.
Any form of assistance is welcome, to help in meeting these
temple’s needs, as many of these temples are in very bad shape. Kindly
contact the site co-ordinator for rendering any assistance thro’
Divya Desa Kainkarya sabha, which is a trust formed with the main idea
of rendering assistance to such temples.
