Welcome
to our Devanagari Page of NaalAyira Divya prabandham.
As you probably aware the Divya prabandhams were written in Tamil, one
of the ancient Indian Languages by Azhvar saints who lived in the southern
part of India, which is the current Tamil Nadu and Kerala. So it is logical
to read and enjoy the Divya prabandhams in Tamil Script as they were written. This
way one can enjoy the beauty of the tamil poem and appreciate the rich
content of the verses although the inner meaning can only be learnt by
doing a traditional kaalekshEbam at the lotus feet of an Acharya.
Having said that, of late there are lot of
devotees who appreciate the superiority of the tamil prabandhams but unable
to read the tamil script as originally written due to lack of Tamil knowledge.
For example the schools in overseas doesn't offer Tamil as a language.
In our satsangh we have lot of srivaishnava devotees who are born and brought
up in Karnataka and Andra and never had a chance to learn to read and write
in Tamil. But such devotees are keen to read the prabandhams with the help
of books transliterated in other languages.
Considering the growing interest, adiyen
is venturing to provide these tamil prabandhams in a transliterated form.
adiyen should confess that he is not a scholar in Sanskrit and his knowledge
is not beyond recognizing the devanagari alphabets. One thing I can assure
is that there are no errors in the english version which was used to transliterate
in to devanagari. My humble request to the learned devotees who will
be browsing these pages would be to spare some time to point out the errors
in these documents, by email.
This way we can have our Divya sookthis of our divine saints in multiple
languages in the Cyber space. Before proceeding please download the font
by clicking the link below and install both the fonts in your fonts directory
in your control panel. Another request:As
far as possible use Netscape for viewing these files since in Internet
Explorer the script is not impressive esp the ke,kai ko and kau etc.
We have now commenced PDF version and at
this time iramanusa noorandhadhi is available in PDF format. You will require
Acrobat Reader for this and this is a freeware.Click here
